About European Specialty
After completing his 5 yr. auto apprenticeship with BMW in New Zealand, Wayne Ayers was asked to join the McLaren race team in England. This accomplishment was no mean feat as the McLaren race team handpicks from the best, most innovative mechanics from throughout the world. Testament to McLarens' prowess is their current involvement with Mercedes, producing world class exotic cars and F1 Champions.
On his way to the McLaren team, Wayne visited Vancouver and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. Taking up roots in Vancouver, Wayne continued his love of maintaining and repairing the best of the European makes for 20 successful years.
After several visits to the Island, Wayne recognized the need in Nanaimo for a specialty business that offered expert advice, prompt, honest, and efficient servicing, along with an inventory of high standard, pre-owned automobiles for sale. This resulted with the opening of European Specialty Car Services in 1989.
About The Team
European Specialty Cars has been established in Nanaimo for 20 years providing support for their valued customers. Critical to maintaining European Specialty Car's high standard of service are the skill sets of Service Manager George Hillier and Senior Technician Phil Jackson.
George Hillier
Service Manager
Before joining European specialty Car Services I had 33 years working experience as an automotive technician which is of tremendous help to the position here as service writer and parts and service advisor.
All of our customers are very pleasant and I get to meet some very interesting people here at the front desk where I can help them navigate through the uncertain passage of service and repair.
In my spare time I like woodworking and fishing at beautiful Cowichan Lake where I have a summer retreat. In the winter months my wife and I try to slip away on a carribean cruise.
Feel free to call me anytime with your questions or concerns. I will be more than willing to help.
Phil Jackson
Head Technician
I have had a lifelong love of cars. At age 11 my dad and I worked together to replace the head gaskets on the family's Chrysler hemi. From there it was one project or another involving repairing or performance modification.
I entered and proceeded through my automotive apprenticeship with two independent businesses expanding my knowledge from Volkswagen to Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. In 1996 I was really excited to be joining European Specialty Cars where I knew I would be further challenged in a facility that is exclusively accommodating fine automobiles.
I enjoy all aspects of this business from elecronic computer diagnostics to rebuilding engines. The learning, research and accomplishment is very rewarding.
I am married with two childred and manage to find time for my other interests including guitar, house wiring, hiking/backpacking, beer brewing.
Corey D. Milne
I am a fourth year automotive apprentice working towards my third year of general european specialist training. I am very enthusiastic and passionate about these cars and strive to learn as much as I can so they will run to their optimum ability under our care.
My love of cars began when I was very young out cruising around with my dad in his MGB with the top down. The love has since grown into an obsession and now I find myself spending a lot of my time browsing european automotive related forums or tinkering with my own BMW M3. My greatest passion is the BMW marque with Porsche a close second. My hobbies include snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and reading.
I hope to have a long and exciting career as a european automotive specialist learning every day and rising to every challenge put before me.
